About Angkor Wat
The largest religious monument in the world at 162.6 hectares. Originally built as a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, later converted to Buddhist. The moat is 1.5 km wide and 5.5 km long. Features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world. The temple appears on the Cambodian flag. Took an estimated 300,000 workers and 6,000 elephants to build.
