About Chichen Itza

The pyramid of Kukulcan has 365 steps, one for each day of the year. During equinoxes a shadow serpent appears to slither down the stairs. A handclap at the base produces a chirping echo resembling a quetzal bird. The largest ball court in Mesoamerica is here. A cenote beneath was used for sacrificial offerings.
