The tallest statue in the world until 2018. Located inside a Buddhist monastery. Made of 1,100 pieces of copper cast. Weighs approximately 1,000 tonnes. The lotus throne itself is 20 meters tall. Built in response to the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan.
