Built by Louis XIV, the Sun King. The Hall of Mirrors has 357 mirrors. The gardens contain 400 sculptures and 1,400 fountains. The palace has 2,300 rooms. The Treaty of Versailles was signed in the Hall of Mirrors in 1919. The royal chapel took 28 years to complete. The original estate covered 8,000 hectares.
