About Notre-Dame de Paris
A masterpiece of French Gothic architecture begun in 1163 on the Ile de la Cite. Famous for its flying buttresses, rose windows, and gargoyles. Inspired the 1831 novel by Victor Hugo. A fire in April 2019 destroyed its spire and roof. After a five-year restoration it reopened in December 2024.
