About Temple of Heaven

Built under the Yongle Emperor, who also built the Forbidden City. Emperors came here to pray for good harvests. The round Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is built of wood without nails. Struck by lightning and burned in 1889, it was rebuilt soon after. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.
